Almond Oil – one of the plant oils closest to our own skins oil, it is high in Vitamin E. One of the oldest oils used in skin care and is rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals.

Aloe Vera – a moisturising emollient that soothes and heals. Aloe Vera is also an anti inflammatory, is healing, calming, soothing, conditioning and helps stimulate the skins regeneration. Aloe Vera also may help reduce scarring and blemishes. It has a neutral pH and has antibacterial properties.

Benzophenone-3 – organic chemical sun filter and broad spectrum sunscreen.

Beeswax – is the wax secreted from the underside of bees, which is used to build the walls of the honeycomb. It has antibacterial properties and forms a protective barrier on the skin.

Carrot Oil – emollient plant oil similar to other non fragrant plant oils.

Coconut Oil – contains Vitamin E & A for healing and soothing and is a natural antioxidant and emollient.

Collagen (Marine Collagen) – assists in keeping the skin soft, plump and supple and may reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Collagen helps hydrate, firm and tone the skin. Collagen is the most abundant source of protein in the animal kingdom and makes up 1/3 of the total protein of our body & 90% of the dry weight of the skin. We use high quality, expensive marine collagen, which is the protein from the skin of fish.

Corundum Crystals – small natural mineral particles with excellent exfoliation properties.

Elastin (Marine Elastin) – is the major component of skin that gives it flexibility. Elastin is a water binding agent, smooths wrinkles and rejuvenates. Elastin is a similar amino acid complex to Collagen making up a smaller but important % of the connective tissue within the Collagen of the skin, giving extra elasticity. Young soft skin contains mostly flexible, soluble collagen/elastin ('young-stretchy').

Emollients – waxlike, lubricating, thickening agents that prevent water loss and have a softening and soothing effect on the skin. Lanolin is one example of an emollient.

Emulsifiers – oil and water do not mix, so ingredients known as emulsifiers or surfactants are added to enable the two components to mix together to form lotions and creams like coconut palm fatty acids or natural sugars

Exfoliation – your body is constantly shedding the outermost layer of dead skin cells while creating brand new cells underneath. When these dead cells stay on your skin they can cause infection and clog pores. Exfoliation is the process of removing these dead skin cells by gently scrubbing with a product containing fine particles such as corundum crystals. Exfoliation helps loosen and dislodge the dead cells and exposes the new youthful skin cells underneath.

Glycerin (glycerol) – is present in all natural lipids (fats) whether animal or vegetable. Glycerin is a humectant and attracts moisture to the skin to help maintain the skins homeostasis. We use plant based glycerin.

Gold – 23 carat gold flakes from Italy are soft, hypoallergenic and easily absorbed through the skin at a cellular level. This gold may assist with anti-aging, rejuvenation and revitalisation of the skin by helping it breathe more efficiently. Gold helps reverse the oxidation damage to the collagen fibres making the skin youthful and radiant.

Humectant – ingredients that draw moisture to and aid in moisturising the skin. E.g.: glycerin.

Hypoallergenic – a product to which you are not likely to be allergic.

Jojoba Oil – a natural emollient plant oil & moisturiser, absorbs into the skin and is very softening.

Lanolin – a natural oil extracted from sheep’s wool. We use fine, light pharmaceutical fractions of Lanolin that provide the most moisturising and penetrating benefits for the skin. Lanolin is moisturising and softening as well as having barrier properties to repel dirt and water. Lanolin is the closest animal oil to the oil our own skin produces and is obtained without the need to kill the animal.

Omega 3 – rich polyunsaturated and essential fatty acids which feed your skin giving it the nutrition it needs to stay healthy and beautiful.

Placenta – Ovine (sheep) Placenta extracts help to reconstruct the skin by stimulating cell renewal thus slowing down the aging process. Rejuvenating and revitalising for the skin. Is a rich source of proteins & amino acids.

Preservatives – prevent bacterial growth and along with antioxidants prolong the shelf life of the product. We use Ministry of Health approved preservatives that are commonly used world wide. We use the minimum amount of preservatives necessary to ensure our products are safe to use.

Propolis – comes from resin gathered from tree sap by pollen collecting bees. Propolis acts as a disinfectant and as an antibiotic leaving the skin healthy and bacteria free. By incorporating Propolis in Merino Placenta Crθme, this gives the other moisturising properties maximum effectiveness and penetration into the skin.

pH – is the term that stands for the power of the hydrogen atom. A scale of 0 to 14 is used to measure the acidity and alkalinity of solutions, and pH 7.00 is neutral. As long as skin care products are not unusually high or low then there is no problem.

Sunflower Seed Oil – positively firms and actively hydrates all skin types and does not leave an oily residue.

Vitamin B5 (D Panthenol) – is a vitamin of great benefit for good skin condition, is non toxic and is an anti-irritant. Applied to the skin Vitamin B5 reduces the affect of environmental damages e.g.: sun.

Vitamin C – may help reduce the amount of free radical damage from sun exposure. Free radicals are naturally occurring unstable molecules that steal electrons from your body’s healthy molecules to balance themselves. Antioxidants like Vitamin C can neutralise the free radicals by offering their own electrons and so protect the healthy molecules from harm.

Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) – most stable form of Vitamin E. Is a very potent antioxidant with anti aging properties helping to reduce sun damage to the skin. Vitamin E is a superior skin moisturiser, helps reduce skin inflammation, increase tone, firmness, texture and circulation of the skin.

Wheat Germ Oil – emollient plant oil similar to all non fragrant plant oils. Soft and moisturising. Wheat Germ oil is also high in Vitamin E.
